The Hubbard Chamber of Commerce recently announced that Larry “Doc” Hawthorne has been selected as this year's Hall of Fame honoree. Hawthorne will be honored at the Chamber's annual banquet which will be held on Saturday, April 5 at the Haralson Family Life Center, 208 NW Second Street in Hubbard. Festivities get underway at 6 p.m.
Hawthorne is a well-respected civic leader in Hubbard. He is an active member of numerous civic organizations in the community and has served on the Hubbard ISD Board of Trustees for the past 24 years and currently serves as board president. Hawthorne is an employee of ExxonMobil will approximately 41 years of service and works in the Corsicana office as a Field Regulatory Advisor. He is a long-time member and supporter of the Hubbard Chamber of Commerce.
This year's banquet theme is “An Evening with Elvis” and will feature the legendary Elvis impersonator, James Wages. Tickets are $20. The roast beef dinner will be catered by Bill Waller's Catering Service. If you wish to reserve a table for eight or more, contact Paulette Fulton at 254-576-2050.
