Corsicana — Sixth Avenue Baptist Church of Corsicana celebrates 15 years of Bishop K.D. Davis Sr. serving as Overseer/Bishop of the historic 110-year-old church. He serves as the presiding Prelate Bishop of The United Together For The Kingdom Work of Christ Fellowship. Bishop Davis served two terms as president of the Corsicana Ministerial Alliance. He serves currently as the supervisor of the Usher's Department of the Galilee-Griggs Memorial District and the Texas State Missionary Baptist Convention Usher Department. Bishop Davis is a spirit-filled preacher, Pastor, Evangelist, multi-talented drummer, recording artist and radio personality. Sixth Avenue is the first African American Church in the Corsicana area to be blessed to be on radio and television at the same time. Davis can be heard on KAND 1340 AM on Sunday mornings from 8 to 9 a.m. The television broadcast can be seen on Community Cable Channel 28 on Wednesday at 12 noon, Saturdays at 4:30 p.m., and Sundays at 7:30 p.m. He is the host of the “Just Believe” radio broadcast on KNON89.3 in Dallas. The Anniversary celebration beging at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2014. Guest churches include The Pilgrim Rest PBC, The Freedom Fellowship Church, The Lifeline Fellowship Church, and the Greater Love Outreach Fellowship. The message will be brought by Bishop William Lewis Jr., pastor of the Greater Love Outreach Fellowship. At 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 5 guest churches include The Mount Olive Baptist Church and the Johnson Memorial COGIC. The message will be brought by Elder Joseph Johnson Sr. The Anniversary Celebration concludes at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 6 when guest churches will be Faith Temple Ministries of Fairfield, The Deliverance Missionary Baptist Church of Dallas, and the Lighthouse Church of God in Christ, Dallas.
