July 4 celebrations in Navarro County

Corsicana — Independence Day brings activities, cookouts and celebrations across the county. Here's a look at some of the events that are planned for Friday's July 4 holiday.

The Rotary Club Freedom Festival will be held at Corsicana’s I.O.O.F. Park beginning at 6:30 p.m. There will be food, music, and games for the children. Fireworks will take place after dark. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and join the community for the celebration.

Kerens Chamber of Commerce will host its 20th Annual Old Fashioned Fourth of July with a downtown celebration beginning at 6:30 p.m. There will be a bicycle parade, cake walk, train rides, sack races, washer pitching, bounce house, bingo, live music, egg toss, water games, and an Ice Cream “Churn Off.” Also available will be hot dog dinners, snowcones, watermelon and ice cream.

The Blooming Grove Independence Day parade will be held starting at 11 a.m. Floats, cars, bicycles, 4 wheelers, etc.. are needed. Line up on the high school parking lot at 10:30 a.m. Vendors are welcome to set up in the park free of charge on a first come first serve basis.
