Corsicana — The Navarro County Republican Women will meet at the Republican Headquarters, 111-B West Third Avenue.  Social time and lunch begin at 11:30 AM.  The meeting and program will begin promptly at 12 noon.  The program features Xavier Villarreal, CEO of Navarro Regional Hospital, who will discuss the effects of “Obamacare” on the health care system.  Make your lunch reservations by Saturday, March 23, with Margarita Patterson, arcepark@peoplepc.com or (903) 874-8785.  Lunch is $7 at the door.  Everyone who is interested is invited to attend and learn more about the Republican women's organization.

Navarro Regional Hospital’s Healthy Woman program will host an event at 5:30 p.m. on “Restoring your Freedom” with Dr. Margaret Kressin, board-certified urologist in the hospital café . Dr. Kressin will discuss causes and new treatment options for overactive bladder as well as overall bladder health.  The event is free but seating is limited so please reserve your spot at NavarroHospital.com/HealthyWoman or call Anna Paul at (903) 654-6871. Hors d’oeuvres will be served and attendees will have chances to win great door prizes.

Corsicana Volunteer Income Tax  Assistance (VITA) will be at the Kerens Public Library from 1 to 4 p.m. each Wednesday until  April 11. If you are a low income (usually under $42K) or elderly, and in need of tax filing assistance, take advantage of this free program. This year we are seeing clients with appointments first and then we’ll work with our walk-ins. VITA will be at the YMCA in Corsicana on Tuesday and Thursday from 2 until 7 p.m. and Wednesdays in Kerens at the library from 1 until 4 p.m.  Call George Burrell at (903) 879-2091 to schedule your appointment.

The Hop Downtown - Annual event sponsored by the Corsicana Main Street Program, Corsicana Parks and Recreation, and local businesses from 3 to 5:30 p.m. There will be games for the kids, a bounce house, face painting, a drawing for free bikes, photos in Pocket Park, refreshments, and the Easter Bunny.
