The City Of Blooming Grove will hold its Monthly City Council meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2013 at Blooming Grove City Hall, 200 S. Fordyce, Blooming Grove, TX  76626.

Piecemakers Quilt Guild will meet at the Westhill Church of Christ for refreshments  and gossip from 9:30 to 10 a.m.  After a short business meeting the remainder of the day will be dedicated to making Quilts of Valor for our Wounded Warriors returning home.  Please bring your sewing equipment, fabrics and imagination to contribute to this most worthwhile project. There will be a potluck lunch so bring your favorite covered dish to share.  All quilters and “wanna-be” quilters are invited.

The Blooming Grove Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. in the museum at 201 S. Fordyce in Blooming Grove.  The guest speaker will be Frances Carroll Holdeman who will speak of the early days in Blooming Grove.  All interested people are invited to attend.  For more information call (903) 695-2724 or (903) 673-2635.

The Sunbeam Club will meet at the Ennis IHOP at 11:30 a.m. for another great day of fellowship. Make your plans now for this get-together to share good memories of the April reunion. If you are a railroader who is active or retired, if you have a family member who is or was a railroader, if you just love a train you are welcomed to fellowship with this fun-loving group.

H-E-B Grocery Store is hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, May 7, from 1 to 6 p.m. at 201 S. 15th Street in the parking lot on the Carter BloodCare bus. For more information or to schedule an appointment time, contact Christina Clary at (903) 874-4778.

Oak Valley Crime Watch will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Oak Valley Community Center. Bring a covered dish and come enjoy good food, fun and fellowship! Everyone is welcome.

    The Corsicana Police Department executed a raid on an alleged meth house Saturday afternoon, and it was done in about 45 minutes, all but the paperwork.
    “That part is on-going, reports and follow-up,” said Police Chief Randy Bratton on Monday.
