Corsicana — Kinsloe House will present an interesting program for members on Oct. 10, 2012 at 12 noon.  The program will be Kay McConaughey. She recently had a small role on the movie “Bernie,” based on a true story in Carthage, Texas. Her son, Matthew, played a major role in the movie. She will share her experiences making this movie. She has written a book that will be available for purchase at this event. Hostesses for this program will be Margaret Thomas, Beverly White, Jan Moore, Pat Howell, Marsha Damero, Joyce Morris, and Carolyn French.  Reservations and cancellations should be made by calling Kinsloe House at (903) 874-5791 no later than noon Monday, Oct.8.

Oct. 12

The Navarro County Retired Teachers Association will meet at 9:45 a.m. at Northwest Apartments Community Center, 1360 Northwest Ave. The program will be presented by Dr. Trena Weidmann, pharmacist. All former school employees are invited to attend.

Oct. 12-14

Pelham Community Homecoming will celebrate its 55th annual Oct. 12-14. Friday night, Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. will be a worship service with Rev. Charles Kelly as the master of ceremonies at the Wesley United Methodist Church, and Rev. Earnest Sample Sr. of West as speaker. On Saturday, Oct. 13, from 2 to 6 p.m. will be Pelham “Fun and Frolic.” Family and friends will enjoy activities at the Pelham Community History Museum. Bring your lawn chairs, Museum will be open for tours. The celebration will culminate on Sunday with homecoming worship services at 10:45 a.m. at the Wesley United Methodist Church, Rev. Elgin Taylor, President Emeritus of Christians in Action International of Dallas speaking. Dinner will be served following services at the Pelham Community Center.

Oct. 13

A Pancake Breakfast Benefit for Jordan Dechaume, the 10-year-old Blooming Grove fifth grader recently diagnosed with leukemia will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. The Pancake Breakfast will be held at the Blooming Grove Volunteer Fire Department , and all donations will be accepted. This is sponsored by the Blooming Grove VFD.
