Corsicana — The House of Refuge will be at Van’s Jewelers displaying the quilts that are being raffled off on Dec. 17, 2012. The tickets are $10 each, and all proceeds go toward the operations of the House of Refuge. For more information call (903) 874-3421.

Cedar Lake Home Health and Hospice, 625 N. Main St., invites you to attend its annual memorial service. It will be held at 2 p.m. at Martin Hall at The First United Methodist Church on West Third Ave. and 15th St. If you or someone you know has experienced the death of a loved one in the past, you are invited to join in this time of remembrance.

The Navarro County Genealogy Society will meet at 10 a.m. for its quarterly meeting. After a business meeting to elect officers a program on cemeteries will be presented by Norman and Dana Stubbs. Information on local Navarro County Cemeteries will be shared in the program along with important landmarks in the area to aid in genealogy research. A light lunch will be served followed by an outing to a nearby cemetery for a demonstration on how to locate unmarked graves by way of “grave witching/dowsing.” If you would like to take part in this activity please bring a pair of brass or metal clothes hangers to the meeting. Big C Jamboree will take place at 7 p.m. at Martins Music Hall, 201 S. Beaton. Special guest this month will be Sissy Perry and Debbie Carter, appearing with Chuck Wiginton, Zanada Tally Schoppert, Ron Sikes, Joe Honea, Jody Thomas, Fred Hayes, Billy Roy Mitcham, Stan Lawhon, and Bobby Fluker, emcee. Woodmen of the World Lodge 5's Thanksgiving meeting will be at the Lone Star Room of the Kenneth Walker Dining Hall at Navarro College at 6 p.m.  You must RSVP for this catered meal, please call Trudy at (903) 874-7050 to give a head count by Nov. 5.  Don't be late.
