— Former students of Blooming Grove High School will want to make note of the Homecoming festivities planned for Saturday, Oct. 20. Beginning at 9:30 a.m. the city council will provide coffee and cookies for a visitation at the Doc Garrison City Park. This time is designed for old friends to catch up and reminisce about the “good old days.”

The dedication of the Blooming Grove Historical Museum at 201 Fordyce will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by barbecue sandwiches served at the Blooming Grove High School cafeteria. It is requested that those planning to eat provide an RSVP.

The Blooming Grove Ex-Students Association will have registration from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to sign in and pay dues. The main program will start at 1:30 p.m. with honor classes, outstanding ex-students and teachers, and business meeting taking place. The Honor Classes for 2012 are 1952, 1962, 1972 and 1987. A member from each class will give a brief presentation. Graduates from BGHS from years prior to 1952 will be recognized. There will be an outstanding retired teacher honored, as well. Each year, one local ex-student and one out-of-town ex-student are honored.
