Oct. 1

Oak Valley Crime Watch invites all Oak Valley neighbors and friends to attend Oak Valley Crime Watch held at the Oak Valley Community Center at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome. We encourage you to bring your favorite dish. Come see what's happening in your neighborhood and meet new neighbors and make new friends. We hope to see you there.

The Sunbeam Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. at the Ennis IHOP. It will be a time of welcoming in fall and sharing a meal and fellowship together. Mark your calendar and plan to be a part of this great time of railroad fellowship.

The Blooming Grove Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. in the museum at 201 S. Fordyce St.  Homer Whorton will tell about his youthful days in Blooming Grove.  All interested people are invited to attend.  For more information call (903) 673-2635 or (903) 695-2633.

Oct. 2

Eureka Crime Watch will hold its regular monthly meeting at 1:30 p.m. at the Eureka United Methodist Church. Special guest will be Dick Martin, Precinct 2 County Commissioner. The public is invited for this informative meeting and the fellowship which follows. Refreshments will be served.

The Kinsloe House  will present an interesting and entertaining program by one of its members, Mary Lou McKie, who will discuss Vanderbilt family memorabilia. Mary Lou was married to Cornelius Vanderbilt, Jr.  Join us as she shares memorabilia and experiences as a member of the Vanderbilt family. Members don’t want to miss the chance to hear about the Vanderbilts and see some of the gorgeous jewelry and other items Mary Lou will exhibit. The American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 22, 632 N. Beaton St., will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. at the post.
