Carroll Ave. Host pastor is Joseph Johnson Sr. and Elect Lady Pearl Johnson. Speaker is Pastor H.B. Horn Jr. of Greater Mt. Calvary, Dallas. Rev. Horn was educated in Corsicana where he graduated from the historical G.W. Jackson High School in 1968. He continued his education and received an AAS degree from Navarro College, then proceeded to the University of North Texas in Denton to acquire his Bachelor of Science degree. He later earned his Masters of Business Administration degree from LeTourneau University in Longview. He currently has hours towards his Doctoral degree from the Trinity College of the Bible Theological Seminary, located in Newburgh, Ind. During his career, Rev. The Reaching Out To You Ministry of Sixth Avenue Baptist Church invites you to its Mother’s Day Special at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, May 12. Missionary Baptist Church, 405 S. 15th Street, Corsicana. Mother's Day is very special to all. May everyone honor his or her mother this Sunday by sharing and expressing that special love together. For those who no longer can physically share Mother's Day with your mother, may the day be filled with joyous memories. Regular Sunday morning services will be observed this week at 9:45 a.m. for Sunday School and 10:50 a.m. for Morning Worship. But, the afternoon service will not be held this week to give families more time together. All age groups are encouraged to attend Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Friday at 6 p.m. Friday evenings are set aside for just good fun. Come with your comfortable shoes and be ready to join in for volleyball, table games and etc. There is something for everyone. Grief Share, sponsored by Northside Baptist Church, meets from 5 to 7 p.m. each Sunday at the Fellowship Center on Forest Lane (across the street from Northside). This is a special weekly seminar and support group for people who are grieving the death of someone close to them. Each Grief Share session includes a video seminar and group discussion. Grief Share is a non-denominational group and features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics. This group is sponsored by people who understand what you are experiencing and want to offer you comfort and encouragement during this difficult time.
