Corsicana — Two kids with life-threatening conditions are on the list of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Navarro County, and they're serving up enchiladas to grant them.
The Celebrity Waiter event will take place from 11 a.m. To 9 p.m. Wednesday at La Pradera, 1401 W. Seventh Ave.
A 6-year-old from Streetman wants to see DisneyWorld, while an 11-year-old from Blooming Grove wants to go to a dude ranch.
Helping out this year by serving at the celebrity wait are Sheriff Elmer Tanner, Police Chief Randy Bratton, County Auditor Kathy Hollomon, District Attorney Lowell Thompson, CISD Board member Leah Blackwell, CISD board candidate Rick Newton, bankers Les Leskoven and Rusty Hitt, local attorney Kerri Donica, Dr. Shawkat Shafik, and Corsicana High School students in the National Honor Society, and wish recipients and their families from previous years.
The Navarro County group has been granting wishes since at least 2008, said Sheba Shafik, co-chair of the local foundation.
All tips and a portion of the proceeds from each meal will go towards making the wishes come true.
