April 30

Cotton Patch will host a “Give back” night for Navarro County Relay for Life 2014 when a portion of the proceeds will go to Relay for Life. There will also be tickets available for the drawing for the quilt made by Piecemakers Quilt Guild.

Relay for Life team Prosperity Bank Buckaroos will hold a Give Back night at Denny's from 5 to 10 p.m. Denny's will donate 20 percent of proceeds when the Relay for Life is mentioned.

Waiting on Wishes by Make A Wish of North Texas will hold a Celebrity Waiter event at La Pradera Mexican Restaurant. All tips and 50 percent of the day's proceeds will be dedicated to granting the wishes of children in Navarro County battling life-threatening medical conditions. Come and enjoy community leaders, local celebrities, and meet families serving you lunch and dinner while supporting wishes in Navarro County.

Blooming Grove Crime Watch will meet at 7 p.m. at the Blooming Grove Historical Society building. Guest speaker will be Les Cotten, former Navarro County Sheriff. Light refreshments will be served, and the public is invited to attend.

Navarro Regional Hospital's Healthy Woman presents its Sixth Anniversary Celebration with a Shopping Expo and dinner at the IOOF Event Center beginning at 5 p.m. Dale Smith Thomas will be the speaker. Angels of Corsicana Troop Support will hold its annual garage sale at 1020 N. Bus. 45. Volunteers are needed on Thursday, May 1 to come price items, and volunteers are needed both Friday and Saturday to help run the sale. For more information contact Jean O'Connor at (903) 851-2560.

Dresden Cemetery Association Annual Meeting will be held with a Memorial Service at 11 a.m., covered Lunch at noon, and a Business Meeting to follow at 1 p.m. Donations can be sent to Dresden Cemetery Assoc. Mildred Independent School District board members approved the 31-year-old Corsicana native as the high school’s new principal Monday night.
