— Four teenagers were detained and arrested after allegedly trying to steal a man’s car at knife point Wednesday night.

The incident began around 6:45 p.m., when a man stopped to pick up some people he knew who were walking along Country Club Road. The man later told police he knew two of the five people he picked up, said Ronnie McGaha, assistant police chief for the Corsicana Police Department.

After they got into his vehicle, however, three of the people began demanding his vehicle and wallet, threatening him with a knife.

The man pulled over to the side of the road and took his wallet, and in the roadside scuffle, he got his keys and jumped back into his truck and fled the scene.

“He drove straight to the police department,” McGaha said.

Later in the evening, responding officers found four of the suspects walking on Country Club Road. One escaped on foot.

The teenagers were detained on charges of aggravated robbery.

The man had some minor injuries.
