For those in need of an electronic horse-riding exercise machine, an electric gravy boat, an automatic pear peeler, or a matched set of luggage at bargain-basement prices, the annual Kinsloe House Treasure Trove sale is taking place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Saturday at the former Stewart Motors, 500 N. Main St.
The cash-only garage sale is being used this year to help the ladies’ club house buy new furniture and curtains. They have so much confidence in this year’s effort that some of the couches from the Kinsloe House are being sold in this year’s sale.
From crystal and china sets to a fake Academy Award, the sale encompasses hundreds of feet of floorspace in the former car showroom, and each office is packed with more.
Since last year, a car repair shop has opened in the rear, but that hasn’t impacted the front part of the building, or the Kinsloe sale.
Books, bags, knick-knacks, kitchen gadgets, Christmas decor and clothing are all up for sale, and Saturday is half-price day.
“That’s what we’re here for, to make money for the club,” said Linda Denbow, one of the volunteers.
