Corsicana — A listing of meetings and events of interest from throughout Navarro County.

Aug. 21

U.S. Rep. Joe Barton (R-Ennis) is hosting a Town Hall meeting at 6 p.m. at the Corsicana Government Center, at 200 North 12th Street. Barton will provide an update on activities taking place in Washington, D.C., and will answer questions from the audience. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Corsicana Marcha Para La Reforma/ Immigration Reform Rally will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. during the Joe Barton Town Hall Meeting. The march will begin at the lot behind Super One (formerly Ole) and walk down Seventh Ave., then up 12th St. to city hall. For more information, visit Corsicana Marcha Para La Reforma on Facebook.

The Kinsloe House Grounds Committee, headed by Paula Jones, will present an interesting program given by Angie Lockhart, administrator of Heritage Oaks Retirement Center. Angie will speak about the many changes in Medicare, Managed Care, and Medicaid. This is a program that will interest many as we will need to know how to manage the complexities of Medicare. Aug. 22

The Corsicana Newcomers' Club will welcome members back from summer vacations with a grand style show of Fall Fashions from Corsicana's own marketplaces. If you are new in town, want to meet new friends, or just ready to help the Newcomers learn their way around town join them at Kinsloe House at 11 a.m. for a great lunch, fun, fellowship and fall fashions. Aug. 23

VFW on West Hwy 31 will host Country Sue Karoake from 8 p.m. to 12 midnight. Come out, meet friends, and have a fun evening.

 

Aug. 24

 The American Legion Post 22, 632 N.
