Court-At-Law Jury cancelled

The jury panel called for Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, for Judge Amanda Putman’s County Court-At-Law court has been cancelled. Those called do not need report.

The Warehouse Living Arts Center opened its 43rd consecutive season with “Moonlight and Magnolias” by Ron Hutchison on Thursday. The cast features Mark Bedgood, Brad Cook, Marissa Hoskins Dobbs and Frank Means. Other performance dates are Feb. 1-2, 4, 6-7-8. Evening show starts at 7:30 p.m.; the matinee on Feb. 2 starts at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at the theatre box office at 119 West 6th Avenue in downtown Corsicana across from the post office. Feb. 1

Cars of Navarro County will host its season kickoff car show from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Exxon Tiger Tote on West Highway 31 at 45th Street. Entry fee is $10 with 17 awards to be presented. Proceeds will go to the Wounded Warrior Project. For more information call 214-418-5775.

Feb. 4

Oak Valley Crime Watch will meet at 6 p.m. at the Oak Valley Community Center. Guest speaker will be Bobby Vickery, who is running for Dist. 8 Texas State Rep. Please bring your favorite covered dish and a friend/neighbor. Everyone is welcome.

The Piecemakers’ Quilt Guild of Corsicana will gather at 9:30 a.m. for “meet and greet” at Westhill Church of Christ on Hwy. 22. The regular session begins at 10 a.m. with a short business meeting followed by a program. Well-known quilt instructor and author, Winnie Fleming, will present a lecture and teach a class on mitered corners.
