The Kinsloe House hosts the October first Sunday luncheon at Kinsloe House on Oct. 6, 2013. The luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the usual time. The luncheon will consist of a Caesar salad, chicken with marsala and mushroom sauce over angel hair pasta or Pork Loin with a glaze on it. Vegetables will be corn casserole and glazed carrots. Desserts will be your choice of pumpkin roll or a wonderful, unusual chocolate cake. There will also be a sugar free dessert, if desired. Cars of Navarro County will hold a Car Show “Tribute to our Heroes” from 4 to 7 p.m. at the new Exxon Tiger Tote gas station on W. Seventh Ave. across from Atwoods. All proceeds will go to the Wounded Warrior Project. There will be 15 awards given at this show, and entry fee is $15 per vehicle. Cars, bikes, trucks, 4 by 4s, project vehicles, hot rods, muscle cars, rat rods, late model performance cars and daily drivers are all welcome to enter. Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1009 will meet at 7 p.m. at the Sirloin Stockade, 2508 West Seventh Ave, Corsicana. Membership is open to U.S. armed forces veterans who served on active duty (for other than training purposes) in the Republic of Vietnam between Feb. 28,1961 and May 7,1975, or in ANY duty location between Aug. 5, 1964 and May 7,1975. The veteran must submit a copy of his/her DD Form 214 along with the application and dues. Members and guest are invited to come early and eat and visit prior to the meeting. We welcome any Veteran as an associate member who served honorably who does not meet the above criteria.
