Corsicana — Blooming Grove Ex-Students Association will hold a visitation at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 19 in the Doc Garrison City Park in conjuction with homecoming festivities. Catch up with old friends and reminisce about the old days. The City Council will provide coffee and cookies at The Lions Den (downtown Blooming Grove). The Blooming Grove Historical Society will be open that day from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. There will be a barbeque sandwich lunch at the Blooming Grove High School cafeteria at 11:30 a.m. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the high school auditorium. The program for the Blooming Grove Ex-Student Association will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Classes honored in the program will be 1953, 1963, 1973 and 1988. The Navarro County Republican Women will host a program called “Restoration or Renovation.” The facts concerning the upcoming bond election for the Navarro County Courthouse will be presented by Commissioners Dick Martin and James Olsen and County Auditor Kathy Hollomon at the Tuesday, Oct. 22 meeting of the Navarro County Republican Women. The Corsicana Newcomer's Club will hold it's annual fundraising event at 6 p.m. at the Corsicana Country Club. You don't have to be a Newcomer to enjoy this fun event as the community is invited to come to this year's Blue Jeans, Boots & Bids auction, dinner and dance featuring music by Byron Haynie.
