Freedom Fund Banquet set Nov. 2

Corsicana — Three special families and a local charitable organization will be honored on Nov. 2 when the Navarro County NAACP holds its 6th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet.

The event will take place starting at 7 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center at 1114 East Sixth Avenue in Corsicana. This year’s theme is “Overcoming our Past, and Embracing our Future.”

Guest speaker for the evening will be Carol E. Wise, executive vice-president and Chief Operating Officer for Dallas Area Rapid Transit.
