From Staff Reports
Corsicana Daily Sun
Corsicana ISD is launching a Community Feedback Survey that asks staff, parents, community members and district alumni for their feedback on a number of vital bond components such as safety and security, district-wide improvements and the need for a new administration building, among others.
Late last year, a Facility Review and Recommendation Committee, composed of district personnel and community members, offered a number of proposals to upgrade and improve district facilities. Based on their report, the district held a bond election in May to raise revenue for these and other components.
“Although the bond didn’t pass, we still need to modernize our facilities and technology infrastructure,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Diane Frost. “This survey allows us to learn what the community’s priorities are now and for the future.”
Staff will receive an email invitation to participate, as will parents, community members and alumni who have provided the district with their email addresses. The survey will also be accessible via a public link that can be accessed through Twitter, Facebook and the district website.
Because the district wants candid feedback and widespread participation, all responses will remain anonymous and confidential.
Once the survey closes on Sept. 16, the district will analyze the results and use the data to plan their next steps, including whether to hold another bond election in the future.
“In order to broaden the conversation, we are hoping to receive input from as many people as possible,” said Frost. “Only by working together can we ensure that all students have the resources and learning environment they need to maximize their personal and academic potential.”
