Corsicana — A listing of meetings and events of interest from throughout Navarro County.

July 4

The American Legion and The American Legion Auxiliary, Post 22, 632 N. Beaton St., will host Karaoke from 5 to 10 p.m. Come over and enjoy some good music and free hot dogs.

The Blooming Grove July 4 parade and activities will begin at 10 a.m. and will be followed by a dog show and silent auction in the park. Parade entries need to line up at the high school parking lot at 9:30 am. All types of floats are welcome. The silent auction will feature patriotic artwork. The dog show is open to everyone. The categories are most patriotic, dog owner look alike, and best trick. There will also be a most patriotic yard contest with winners announced after the parade. The Corsicana Rotary Club invites you and your family to join us as we celebrate our nation's independence. Freedom Festival will be held in the IOOF Park Thursday, July 4th beginning at 6 p.m. and culminating with a big budget fireworks show at dark.  Enjoy music from the Groove Tones and the Bella Voce Trio, two bounce houses for the kids (one is a  5-in-1 combo), clowns, food vendors and fun. Bring a blanket, tent or chairs and make a day of it. All free to the public.

Blooming Grove Crime Watch will not meet for the month of July, due to the July Fourth holiday. Crime Watch meetings will resume in August on Aug. 1 at 7 p.m.

July 6

These were among the fun science projects at Tuesday’s 4-H Discovery Days event at the Navarro County Youth Expo.
