American Legion Auxiliary Unit 22 will hold its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. (This is a new date and time.) When Are We Going Home Ministry will hold its Rising Star Creative Ministry at 6 p.m. at New Beginnings Family Fellowship in Blooming Grove. The Corsicana Public Library will host its 2012 Summer Reading Club series at 11 a.m. each Thursday during June and July. The special guest June 7 will be the Corsicana Fire Department. The annual “Dawg Days of Summer Sooner Chili Cookoff” sponsored by the Humane Society of Navarro County will take place June 9 and 10 at Gander Mountain on Corsicana Crossings. A raffle with a grand prize of a 5 by 8 foot enclosed trailer from Cargo Craft will be held. The Big C Jamboree will take the stage at 7 p.m. at Martin’s Music Hall, 201 S. Beaton in downtown Corsicana. The Jamboree stars Zanada Schoppert, Chuck Wiginton, Ron Sikes, Joe Honea, Jody Thomas, and master of ceremonies Bubby Fluker, with Fred Hayes, Billy Roy Mitcham, and Stan Lawhon. Coyote Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force meets at the Tucker Hardgrave Memorial Hangar at the south end of C. David Campbell Field, the Corsicana Municipal Airport. There will be a staff meeting at 10 a.m. with the general meeting to follow. Prospective members and the public are invited to attend the general meeting. Emmet Jackson, author of “Combat Diary,” will recount his World War II experiences as an aviation cadet and in subsequent assignments. In addition, beginning at 12:30 p.m., rides will be available in the Coyote Squadron’s own PT-19, the “Pride of Corsicana,” for $125 per person. Providence Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting at 11 a.m. at the cemetery. There will be lunch on the grounds (picnic lunch), a guest speaker and a business meeting to follow. Angels of Corsicana Troop Support will meet at 9 a.m. in the Angel Room located at 1020 N. Bus. 45. We welcome all ages to come pack boxes for the troops. Navarro County Genealogical Society will hold its meeting at 10 a.m. in the Nancy Roberts Meeting Room at the Corsicana Public Library. This month the program will be a Show and Tell. Members and guests are asked to bring their favorite items to show and tell. Each participant is allotted five minutes to give the history or stories of their items. The Shakers and Scrapers Car Club will hold their monthly Cruise In at the Whataburger on Seventh Ave. The Cruise In will begin at 6 p.m., so bring your hot rod, muscle car, sports car, motorcycle, project, or anything that rolls. Even if you're not showing a vehicle come by and take a look at all the cool vehicles. Be sure to bring your camera and have a great time looking at all the cool vehicles. The Post Oak Cemetery Association annual picnic will be held at noon Sunday at the Roane Baptist Church. All guests are asked to bring a pot-luck dish. The Corsicana Children’s Company’s 13th Annual Theatre Camp will be held June 11 through 15. Corsicana native Julie Mitchell and with her husband, Markus Baldwin, will be guest instructors for this year's camp. They will be assisted by James Maston Pritchett and theater staff members. Mitchell and Baldwin are professional actors, writers and producers in Los Angeles. Grades K-2 will meet from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuition is $60. Grades 3-4-5 will meet from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuition is $65. Grades 6th and older will meet from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuition is $70. Classes will include creative drama, theater games, improv and on-camera work for Grades 3-4-5 and 6 and older. Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1009 will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Sirloin Stockade, 2508 West 7th Ave., Corsicana. Membership is open to U.S. armed forces veterans who served on active duty (for other than training purposes) in the Republic of Vietnam between Feb. 28,1961 and May 7, 1975, or in ANY duty location between Aug. 5, 1964 and May 7,1975.
