The Sunbeam Club
The Southern Pacific Sunbeam Club gathered at IHOP in Ennis on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012. The whistle blew at 11:30 a.m. Jerry Mayo was honored for his December birthday.
This was a Candy Cane Day and each one received a candy cane along with a printed history that included connecting scripture.
Some of the club members were involved in the Christmas Parade and Coffee in the Caboose. They shared their experience and enjoyment of the good weather and good attendance.
The Sunbeam Club held their first meeting in January 1993. This was because of an invitation Ralph Essary ran in the paper for all those interested to meet at the Golden Corral. Many of the same people are still meeting with this group 20 years later. They celebrated this anniversary at the December meeting and will do so again in February . The meeting date for January falls on New Years Day, a day for napping and watching ball games. The club will meet again on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 to begin its 21st year.
