From Staff Reports
If you didn’t get one of the 450 chances to win a Harley, you can still help the Go Texan Scholarship Fund. There’s always the post-raffle concert.
The annual Go Texan Harley Raffle is coming home to Corsicana. It takes place Saturday night at the IOOF Center. While the 450 tickets entered into the hopper to win a 2013 Harley Fat boy Lo are sold out, the concert featuring Texas country fan-favorite Jamie Richards is open to the public.
Doors open at 9 p.m., and tickets are $10.
“We’re excited to have it back in Corsicana,” Navarro County Go Texan Committee Ambassador Pat Reed said.
Last year the committee gave away $49,725 in scholarships to Navarro County students.
Richards is a staple artist on 106.9 FM The Ranch’s playlist. His hits include “Drive,” “Last Call,” “Any Way You Want Me To” and his latest, “She’s Cold as that Beer She’s Drinking.”
“Jamie Richards is the epitome of what real country music is, and always has been,” said Jim Nash of The Ranch’s award-winning Morning Revolution (weekdays, 6-10 a.m. with Carey Dean). “I’ve worked with Jamie for many years, and been a fan that long too.
“From ‘Last Call’ to ‘She’s Cold as that Beer She’s Drinkin’,’ there is not a single song in his arsenal that is not straight-up ‘Honky Tonk.’”
Richards’ band includes Corsicana’s own Colt Lawhon on bass guitar. The band also played last year’s Go Texan Harley Raffle concert in Ennis
