Corsicana — Corsicana Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) will be at the Corsicana YMCA from 2 to 7 p.m. If you are low income (usually under $42K) or elderly, and in need of tax filing assistance, take advantage of this free program. This year VITA will see clients with appointments first and then work with walk-ins. VITA is at the YMCA on Tuesdays and Thursdays and at the Kerens Library on Wednesdays from 1 to 4 p.m. Call George Burrell at (903) 879-2091 to schedule your appointment.

When Are We Going Home Ministry will hold the Rising Star Creative Ministry at New Beginnings Family Fellowship in Blooming Grove at 6 p.m., and will celebrate with a Valentine’s Party. All events are free and open to children with medical challenges, disabilities and special needs and their immediate siblings. www.whenarewegoinghome.com.

The Corsicana Emergency Corps., located at 416 South 12th Street in Corsicana, will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at 7 p.m.   The general public is invited to attend.  Monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.  For further information, please call (903) 872-5072.

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1009 will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013 at the Sirloin Stockade, 2508 West 7th Ave, Corsicana. Membership is open to U.S. armed forces veterans who served on active duty (for other than training purposes) in the Republic of Vietnam between Feb. 28, 1961 and May 7,1975, or in ANY duty location between Aug, 5,1964 and May 7,1975. The veteran must submit a copy of his/her DD Form 214 along with the application and dues. Members and guest are invited to come early and eat and visit prior to the meeting.

Navarro County Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance meets at 6 p.m. each Tuesday, in the fellowship hall at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 101 N. 14th St., Corsicana.  All are welcome to learn to give and receive support at the weekly meetings. On the first Tuesday of the month, Dr. Tom Sheriff, licensed psychologist, joins the group discussions on various aspects of mental health.
