The Warehouse Living Arts Center's children's company will present “Alice's Adventures in Wonderland” opening on Wednesday, March 6. Tim Kelly's imaginative and clever adaption of Lewis Carroll's beloved fantasy classic will be presented for five performances.  C. David Hill is directing the very large cast of adults, youth and kids of all ages. Performances on March 6-7-8 and 9 will begin at 7 p.m. The matinee on Sunday, March 10 will begin at 2:30 p.m. The theatre is located at 119 W. Living in Wholeness Health and Wellness Fair will take place from 2 to 6 p.m. at Kerens First United Methodist Church and is a FREE event. There will be giveaways, information on various health-related issues, blood pressure checks, Walk Across Texas signup, Spring Training signup, Carter Bloodcare, a bounce house for the kids and more. Mark the date!



The Blooming Grove Crime Watch will meet at 7 p.m. at the Blooming Grove Fire Station. The speaker will be Corsicana Police Chief Randy S. Bratton. Light refreshments will be served and everyone is welcome.

The Navarro County Retired Teachers Association will meet at 9:45 a.m. at Northwest Apartment Community Center, 1360 Northwest Ave. The speaker for the program will be Navarro County Sheriff Elmer Tanner. All former school employees are invited.



March 9

Collins Middle School Eighth Grade Washington D.C. Trip will hold a Vendor Event Fundraiser at the Collins Middle School cafeteria from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ( trip isJune 11-14th). There are 25 vendors committed thus far, and there will be a bake sale and Barbecue plate lunches as well. Proceeds from sales will go toward the cost of the trip.  



Lonestar Cowboy Church, 4495 W. Hwy 22, will hold a Play Day. Books open at 10 a.m., Play Day will start at 11 a.m. All ages are welcome. For more information, contact Scott Reed at (903) 804-7377.



VFW Post 3366 will host a dance from 8 to 12 midnight. Frankly Country will be the band! Cover charge will be $5 and as always donations will be accepted to help pay the band. The band plays traditional country, oldies and some rock and roll for you to dance to! Come out and enjoy!!



Navarro County Genealogy Society will hold its general meeting at 10 a.m. at the Corsicana Public Library. Mary Sixwomen Blount will speak to the society about the Apalachicola Creek Indians who were removed from Florida to Texas in 1834. She will address as well methods for researching American Indian heritage. She has recently retired as tribal leader of the Apalachicola Indians having served as chief since 1985. The public is invited. There is no attendance charge and all are welcome.



Angels of Corsicana Troop Support will hold a packing at 9 a.m. at the Angel Room, located at 1020 N. Bus. 45. All ages are welcome. Please bring the name of a military member serving in harm’s way with you to the packing so we can do a gift box for our military members. These will be our Easter boxes. Barry Friends of Youth Chili and Soup Dinner will be  5 to 7 p.m. at Barry Methodist Church.  All proceeds will benefit the 4-H and FFA members of the Barry Community that participate in the Navarro County Youth Expo.  Chili, Soup, Cornbread, Crackers, Tea and Dessert will be served.  A silent auction will be going on during the dinner.  Cost of the meal bill $6 for adults and $3 for kids.  Please come attend and enjoy good homemade chili and chicken soup.   



The Shakers and Scrapers Car Club will host their first Cruise In for 2013 at 6 p.m at the parking lot of H & R Block across from Navarro College. Bring your hot rod, muscle car, sports car, motorcycle, project, or anything that rolls. Even if your not showing a vehicle come by and look at all the cool vehicles. Be sure to bring your camera and have a great time.



The Coyote Squadron, the Corsicana unit of the Commemorative Air Force, will have its monthly meeting on March 9th at 10:30 a.m. The meeting will be held at the N.H. “Tucker” Hardgrave Memorial Hangar at the Corsicana, Texas Municipal Airport. Our featured speaker, Shannon Thomas, founded and chartered the Perrin Field Historical Society. Lunch will also be served.



March 10

The Kerens Ex-Students Association will host BOBCAT BISTRO at the KESA Building from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. On the menu today is Parmesan Chicken or Salisbury Steak, with choice of three: Special green beans, Corn casserole, Smashed potatoes, or Copper Pennies, along with a choice of Wacky Chocolate Cake or Mandarin Orange Cake. All served with hot rolls, tea or water for $9 per person. Tips are appreciated. All funds raised will be used for the endeavors of KESA, including scholarships for Kerens students.

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1009 will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the Sirloin Stockade, 2508 W. Seventh Ave, Corsicana. Membership is open to U.S. armed forces veterans who served on active duty (for other than training purposes) in the Republic of Vietnam between Feb. 28, 1961 and May 7, 1975, or in ANY duty location between Aug. 5, 1964 and May 7, 1975. The veteran must submit a copy of his/her DD Form 214 along with the application and dues. Members and guest are invited to come early and eat and visit prior to the meeting.

Trinidad Volunteer Fire Department will host The Plummer Family Country Music Show at the Trinidad High School Auditorium at 7 p.m. This group is formerly of Branson, and the money raised will go to benefit the Trinidad VFD. The Second Annual Richland Craft and Vendor Fair will be held at 103 W Main St., Civic Center, Richland. Inside space w/table $25; outside covered space w/table $15; outside space no cover or table $10. All vendors also donate two non-perishable food items to the Richland food pantry. A portion of the table rental proceeds will go to the volunteer fire department. Navarro College Multimedia Department presents Media Fest 2013, to be held at 10 a.m. at the Cook Center Planetarium at Navarro College. This is a great opportunity to see the best work produced by our multimedia students during the last year. There will be photography, drawings, paintings, 3-D, music, and video on display on the planetarium ceiling. Everyone is welcome. This fundraiser supports the efforts of both the Navarro Council of the Arts and VOICE. “Pillars of our Past, Celebrating the people, places, and events in Navarro County History”  will be the theme this year. Mystery Art in Tuckertown will feature 8 x 10 art work with silent bids starting at $35. The art will be on display at the Warehouse Living Arts Center April 17-26. The Ninth Annual VOICE Spring Luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. at The Cook Center. The VOICE Spring Luncheon is a traditional fundraiser held each year to gain support for VOICE programs and services provided to children and families. This year will feature a red-carpet style theme with a fashion show, a silent auction, and will be emceed by national renowned Joan Rivers impersonator Ellie Weingardt.
