Noah Manuere gets life sentence
A Navarro County jury deliberated five minutes to find Noah Manuere guilty Tuesday, but took 35 minutes Wednesday to give him a sentence of life in prison without possibility of parole for continuous sexual assault of a child.
Mildred takes second at UIL district meet
Mildred High School students took second place in the UIL Academic competition at Buffalo High School in late March. The students scored a total of 434 points at the meet, winning a variety of top slots in district. They came in second by only about 20 points.
Derrick Days 1K/5K scheduled for April 19, a week ahead of downtown festivities
In an effort to give runners and walkers the opportunity to participate in the race, and fully enjoy the annual downtown event’s festivities, organizers of the annual Derrick Days Oil Town Minithon have scheduled the race a week ahead of the city’s oil heritage extravaganza. The 5K race and 1K fun run/walk has been scheduled for Saturday, April 19, and will begin at the YMCA.
