Navarro Regional Hospital will hold a Diabetes Prevention Workshop once monthly for people with pre-diabetes or at risk for diabetes. These classese will be held on the second Tuesday of each month from 5 to 7 p.m. The Diabetes Self-Management Comprehensive Program is an ongoing class for patients diagnosed with diabetes. Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1009 will meet at 7 p.m. at the Sirloin Stockade, 2508 West Seventh Ave, Corsicana. Membership is open to U.S. armed forces veterans who served on active duty (for other than training purposes) in the Republic of Vietnam between Feb. 28,1961 and May 7,1975, or in ANY duty location between Aug. 5,1964 and May 7,1975. The veteran must submit a copy of his/her DD Form 214 along with the application and dues. Members and guest are invited to come early and eat and visit prior to the meeting.
The Corsicana Emergency Corps., located at 416 South 12th Street in Corsicana, will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at 7 p.m. The general public is invited to attend. Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) will host Emily Carroll, R.N., Director of the Navarro County Health Department, at 1 p.m. at the local chapter meeting of NARFE. Ms. Carroll will focus on health concerns of senior citizens. The luncheon meeting will be held at the Sirloin Stockade Restaurant, 2508 West 7th Avenue in Corsicana.
