Corsicana — A listing of meetings and events of interest from throughout Navarro County.

June 30

Oak Valley Crime Watch will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Community Center. Americana is our theme so throw on your red, white, and blue. Crime Watch is providing smoked brisket and sausage, we ask our guests to bring all the trimmings. Everyone is welcome.

July 2

Eureka Crime Watch will hold the regular monthly meeting at the Eureka united Methodist Church at 1:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend and join the celebration of the July 4 holiday. Bring your ideas for future programs and enjoy the fellowship with friends and neighbors. Refreshments will be served.

July 3

The Blooming Grove Crime Watch meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the Blooming Grove Historical Society building. Speaker will be County Judge H.M. Davenport. Everyone is welcome.

The Blooming Grove Historical Society will not meet this month but will instead have and entry in the Blooming Grove July 4 parade. We encourage all to participate in this patriotic day with the parade and events in the park. For more information call 903-673-2635 or 903-695-2633.

July 4

The Rotary Club Freedom Festival will be held at Corsicana’s I.O.O.F. Park beginning at 6:30 p.m. There will be food, music, and games for the children. Fireworks will take place after dark. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and join the community for the celebration.

Kerens Chamber of Commerce will host its 20th Annual Old Fashioned Fourth of July with a downtown celebration beginning at 6:30 p.m. There will be a bicycle parade, cake walk, train rides, sack races, washer pitching, bounce house, bingo, live music, egg toss, water games, and an Ice Cream “Churn Off.” Also available will be hot dog dinners, snowcones, watermelon and ice cream.

The Blooming Grove Independence Day parade will be held starting at 11 a.m. Floats, cars, bicycles, 4 wheelers, etc.. are needed. Line up on the high school parking lot at 10:30 a.m. Vendors are welcome to set up in the park free of charge on a first come first serve basis.
