Corsicana — A listing of meetings and events of interest from throughout Navarro County.

Through Oct. 26

The 32nd Annual Piecemakers’ Quilt Show will take place at the Warehouse Living Arts Center, 119 W. Sixth Ave. Admission is free. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. A quilt will be raffled off as part of the annual show. Oct 4-6

The Blooming Grove Historical Society will have a garage sale in the building across the street from the museum.  Thursday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Oct. 5

Cars of Navarro County will host “Hot Rods at O’Reilly’s” from 7 to 9 p.m. Located at 709 W. Seventh Ave., if you have cars, bikes, trucks, 4x4, project vehicles, hot rods, muscle cars, rat rods, whatever -- bring it. There will be music and awards. Come and go and have a great time.

The Main Street Design Committee will host “The Downtown Cleanup Project” beginning at 5 p.m. Volunteers should meet in front of 222 N. Beaton for assignments and are asked to bring a broom or leaf blower and work gloves, if available. Trash bags, safety vests and bottled water will be provided.

 

Oct. 6

The Navarro College Adult Education Program offers free ESL and GED Classes in Ellis County.  Interested students under 18 years old need to contact the Navarro College Adult Education office at (903) 875-7464.  Interested students 18 years old or older need to attend the registration workshop on Saturday, Oct. 6, at Navarro College-Waxahachie, Building C Room 126.  Workshop will start promptly at 10 a.m.  For more information please contact the Navarro College Adult Education Program at (903) 875-7464 or 1-800-NAVARRO ext. 7464

The Corsicana Newcomers' Club Supper Club will venture north to Ft Worth to view the Dead See Scrolls exhibit.  Call Marge Oslick at 903-872-3508 for details.
