Corsicana — Pelham Memorial Day Activities will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the Beautification of Graves (bring flowers). A program will follow with music, poetry, speakers and honoring veterans. This program will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church in Pelham, and is dedicated in honor of Cecilia Heiskell, Katherine Thomas, Katherline Joiner, Martha Blaine, Theodore Brackens, Faye McBay, Theresa Davis, Velmarie McMullan, Alsa McMullan and Imogene Biggins. There will be a raffle following the program, and lunch will be served at the Pelham Community Center followed by a museum tour and visit. Cemetery dues are $20 per year. Families who have not paid their dues owe $40 at burial. Make all checks payable to The Pelham Cemetery Fund. The association appreciates families purchasing markers to avoid lost graves.

Corsicana Music Fest for West will take place beginning at 1 p.m. at The Remington. Weather permitting outside stages will be used. Since many families in West are without insurance, this event is to raise cash to help those families. Bring your family, as there will be a bounce house for kids and the restaurant will be open. There will be an auction, as well. Bands scheduled to perform include Bryan Smith Band, Debbie Carter and Five-Lane Highway, The Groove Tones, One Less Monkey Band, Courtney Prator Band, Kaufman County Line Band, Sloane McCain Band, AC Copeland and Friends (AC is keyboardist for Casey Donohue Band), Byron Haynie, Shane Holcomb, and Ira Bradford, and other acts possible. For more information contact Robert Horvath at (903) 851-9290.
