A one day Driver Safety Program will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Navarro Regional Hospital located at 3210 W. Highway 22 in Corsicana. The refresher course is designed for drivers 50 years of age and older, but is open to anyone. The cost of the course is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members. All veterans and their spouses can take the course free. Attendees may qualify for reductions in auto-mobile insurance premiums for three years upon completion of the course. Nov. 9

Mary Peterson Child Care Center, 1103 East Collin, will have its Annual Free Thanksgiving Dinner Friday at 6 p.m. until all gone. Menu: Turkey with Dressing, Yams, Green Beans, Dessert and Drink. Nov. 10

When Are We Going Home Ministry’s Riding High Horsemanship program will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Break N Free camp at 4719 NE CR 1040 in Rice. This is a free riding program for medically challenged, disabled and special needs children 0-21 and their immediate siblings. Lunch is included. Volunteers are available for front and side walking as well as a ramp for wheelchairs. Please RSVP for lunch to wawahn@gmail.com.

The House of Refuge will be at Van’s Jewelers displaying the quilts that are being raffled off on Dec. 17, 2012. The tickets are $10 each, and all proceeds go toward the operations of the House of Refuge. For more information call (903) 874-3421.

Cedar Lake Home Health and Hospice, 625 N. Main St., invites you to attend its annual memorial service. It will be held at 2 p.m. at Martin Hall at The First United Methodist Church on West Third Ave. and 15th St. If you or someone you know has experienced the death of a loved one in the past, you are invited to join in this time of remembrance.
