The Blooming Grove Crime Watch will meet at 7 p.m. at the Blooming Grove Fire Station. District attorney Lowell Thompson will be the speaker. Light refreshments will be served and everyone is welcome.
Boardtree Cemetery at Union High will hold a work day event beginning at the cemetery at 8 a.m. Please bring tools and equipment with which to work, such as gloves, trash bags, shovels, weedeaters, etc. Families are encouraged to bring flowers, shrubs or trees to plant to improve the appearance of the cemetery before the holiday season. At noon, workers will convene at the Union High Volunteer Fire Department for lunch. Please bring your own brown bag lunch, drinks will be provided. The Blooming Grove Historical Society will have a garage sale in the building across the street from the museum. Thursday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Cars of Navarro County will host “Hot Rods at O’Reilly’s” from 7 to 9 p.m. Located at 709 W. Seventh Ave., if you have cars, bikes, trucks, 4x4, project vehicles, hot rods, muscle cars, rat rods, whatever -- bring it. There will be music and awards. Come and go and have a great time.
The Navarro College Adult Education Program offers free ESL and GED Classes in Ellis County.
