The American Legion Auxiliary will meet on the second Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. for this month only. This change is necessary because of the New Year’s Day holiday. The meeting will be at the Post on North Beaton St., and all members as well as prospective members are urged to attend.
The Corsicana Emergency Corps., located at 416 South 12th Street in Corsicana, will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at 7 p.m. The general public is invited to attend. Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1009 will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 at the Sirloin Stockade, 2508 West Seventh Ave, Corsicana. Membership is open to U.S. armed forces veterans who served on active duty (for other than training purposes) in the Republic of Vietnam between Feb. 28,1961 and May 7,1975, or in ANY duty location between Aug. 5,1964 and May 7,1975. The veteran must submit a copy of his/her DD Form 214 along with the application and dues. Members and guest are invited to come early and eat and visit prior to the meeting. We welcome any Veteran as an associate member who served honorably who does not meet the above criteria.
