Jan. 19

American Legion Post 22 will host a fish fry dinner with all the trimmings, including dessert, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the post, 632 N. Beaton St. The cost is $7 for adults, $5 for children over 5. Children under 5 eat free. Take-out dinners are available. A silent auction will also take place, and donations are welcome Veterans are urged to attend and join, and the public is welcome. VFW Tradedays will make its debut from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the VFW on West Hwy 31. Booth rental spaces are still available, some with electricity. For more information on booth rental prices, contact Tammy French at (903) 851-5773. VFW Tradedays will be held the third Saturday of each month. Vendors may set up between 6 and 8 p.m. on the Friday prior to Tradeday, or at 7 a.m. the day of Tradedays. The VFW will serve hot dogs, nachos, and frito pies along with coffee, tea, and softdrinks.

Jan. 20

The Warehouse Living Arts Center will hold auditions for the spring youth production on Sunday, Jan. 20 at 2 p.m. in the main theatre located at 119 West Sixth Ave.  C. David Hill will direct “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.” This beloved classic requires a very large cast.  Over 30 roles are available for adults of all ages, teens, tweens and kids ages 5 and up. The production dates are March 6-7-8-9 and 10, 2013.  Those who plan to audition should bring school schedules, date books, work schedules, etc. in order for fill out a detailed rehearsal availability form.  The theatre is located at 119 West 6th Avenue in downtown Corsicana across from the post office. Jan. 21

The Navarro County Branch of the NAACP remembers Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with “A Day of Celebration” to include a rally at Bunert Park at 10 a.m. with guest speaker the Rev. Kenneth Walton Jr., pastor of First Independent Baptist Church. Following will be a march to the MLK Center for an oratory contest at noon. Everyone is welcome to participate.
