Angels of Corsicana Troop Support will be holding an Angel Packing at 9 a.m. in the Angel Room at 1020 North Business 45. All ages are welcome. Please bring the name of a military member serving in harm’s way with you to the packing so we can do a gift box for our military members. These will be the Valentine’s boxes. Feb. 11

The Republican Party of Navarro County is holding its Reagan Day Dinner at 6 p.m. at Napoli’s Restaurant at 111 East Collin Street in Corsicana. Guest speaker for the event will be Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson. The public is invited to attend. Tickets are $25 per person and must be purchased in advance by contacting Glenda Burres by email at glenda@burres.com, or by telephone or text to (903) 641-5365. Woodmen of the World Lodge 5 will have its meeting at 6:00 pm in the Lodge Hall at 200 W. Oak Lawn. All members, their families and guests are cordially invited to attend.

The National Association of Active/Retired Federal Employees

Chapter 1191 will hold its monthly meetin from 11:30 to 1 p.m., at the Sirloin Stockade Restaurant in Corsicana. Members and guests are always welcome. Dr. Richard Sanchez, Navarro College District President will be our guest speaker. Dr. Sanchez has spent 49 years in education, including 23 years as a community college president. Corsicana Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) will be at the Corsicana YMCA from 2 to 7 p.m. If you are low income (usually under $42K) or elderly, and in need of tax filing assistance, take advantage of this free program. This year VITA will see clients with apopintments first and then work with walk-ins. VITA is at the YMCA on Tuesdays and Thursdays and at the Kerens Library on Wednesdays from 1 to 4 p.m. Call George Burrell at (903) 879-2091 to schedule your appointment.
