Corsicana — A listing of meetings and events of interest from throughout Navarro County.

Oct. 14

The Republican Party of Navarro County will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. at Republican headquarters located at 111-B W. Third Ave. in downtown Corsicana. The Corsicana Preservation Foundation will present information regarding the Nov. 5 bond election to finance the renovation of the Navarro County Courthouse. In addition, the proposed states constitutional amendments will be discussed. There will be a social from 6:30 to 7 p.m., saluting the county elected officials. All registered voters are welcome to attend. For more information, reference the website www.navgop.com.

Woodmen of the World Lodge 5 will have its meeting at 6 p.m. in the Lodge Hall at 200 W. Oak Lawn. All members, their families and guests are cordially invited.

Oct. 16

The Kinsloe House Past President’s Committee will present an informative program given by the new president of Navarro College, Dr. Barbara Kavalier. Dr. Kavalier will share insights into what is going on at Navarro College and where she sees the college going in the future. Members are urged to make their reservations or cancellations by noon on Monday, Oct. 14 by either calling the House at (903) 874-5791 or by email at kinsloehouse@yahoo.com.

Oct. 17

United Way of Navarro County will participate in United We Dine at Bittersweet Boutique from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On this day during this time period, 15 percent of all purchases will go to support the community through United Way of Navarro County. Bittersweet Boutique is located at 112 N. Beaton St.

Oct. 18

Around the World in 80 Bites will be held in the Corsicana High School Commons from 5:30 to 7 p.m. All proceeds benefit the CHS Junior/Senior Prom. Tickets may be purchase from any CHS Junior, or you may contact Misty Fletes at mfletes@cisd.org. Tickets are $5 per person.
