The Corsicana Emergency Corps., located at 416 South 12th Street in Corsicana, will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at 7 p.m. The general public is invited to attend. Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1009 will meet at 7 p.m. at the Sirloin Stockade, 2508 West Seventh Ave, Corsicana. Members and guest are invited to come early and eat and visit prior to the meeting. They welcome any Veteran as an associate member who served honorably.
The National Association of Active/Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), Chapter 1191, will hold its monthly meeting at the Sirloin Stockade restaurant in Corsicana from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013. A representative from Blue-Cross-Blue Shield will be our guest speaker. The presentation will include an overview of the FEHB program and prospective changes to the program. Navarro County NAACP will meet at 7 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Community Center, 1114 E. Sixth Ave. All Navarro County citizens are welcome to attend.
The Kinsloe House Furnishings Committee with Linda Fannin and Carolyn French co-chairs will present Sheriff Elmer Tanner of Navarro County. Sheriff Tanner will present a program entitled “ Don’t Let the Grinch Steal your Christmas.” He will speak to attendees about staying safe during the holidays and about the workings of the Navarro County Sheriff’s Department to keep the citizens of Navarro County safe. The House will be decorated with stuffed animals that will be presented to Sheriff Tanner to take back to the department for use in incidences involving children. The department helps small children with their fears and uncertainty during difficult situations with the use of stuffed animals. Members are encouraged to come to learn how we can stay safe not only during the holidays but at all times.
