April 15

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Site open from 2 until 7 p.m. to assist the elderly and low income file their tax returns at the Corsicana YMCA. To schedule an appointment, call  281-682-0928.

Cotton Patch will host a “Give back” night for Navarro County Relay for Life 2014 when a portion of the proceeds will go to Relay for Life. There will also be tickets available for the drawing for the quilt made by Piecemakers Quilt Guild.

April 16

The American Red Cross has scheduled an Emergency Blood Drive in Corsicana from 11:30 a.m. To 4:30 p.m. The drive will take place at the Navarro County Red Cross office at 701 West Second Avenue in Corsicana. All eligible donors are being asked to participate in this emergency appeal.

The Kinsloe House will present Mary Hargraves, President of the Corsicana Better Garden Club. Her program title is “How does your garden grow?” Please call 903-874-5791 to make reservations or cancellations by Monday, April 14 at 12 noon.Members may also email their reservations to thekinsloehouse@gmail.com.

April 17

The Hop Downtown – Annual event sponsored by downtown businesses, the Corsicana Main Street Program, and Corsicana Parks and Recreation. There will be games for the kids, a bounce house, face painting, a drawing for bicycles and Easter baskets, photos in Pocket Park, refreshments, and the Easter Bunny, who will be visiting with children and passing out Easter eggs and goodies. 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. (Weather permitting.) April 18

Relay for Life team Sugar Rush for a Cure will sell lunch starting at 10:30 a.m. At Super One Foods, 100 N. 15th St. Loaded baked potatoes with chopped beef or chicken and a drink for $7, banana pudding for an extra $2.

April 19

When Are We Going Home Ministry and Break N Free Camp presents the Riding High Horsemanship Program to be held at 4719 NE CR 1040 in Rice. Call for directions and to RSVP to (903) 422-6120 (to get an accurate count). This event is free and open to all medically challenged, special needs and disabled children and foster children and their immediate siblings up to the age of 21. The event will include riding, saddling, safety, feeding and care of horses, and a short devotion.
