The Corsicana Public Library hosts Len Barnett (Drums) at 10:30 a.m. during the 2014 Summer Reading Program. Len Barnett is a highly respected and much sought-after musician, and a gifted educator and entertainer of kids. Come join in the rhythm making and enjoy the beat of the drums with this talented performer.
The community is cordially invited to the Second Annual “Play in the Parking Lot” at the Warehouse Living Arts Center at 7 p.m. A stage will be erected in the parking lot where the campers of the 15th Annual Theater Camp’s third grade through high school will present “Pecos Bill and Slue-Foot Sue Meet the Dirty Dan Gang.” This event is free to the public. Please come and bring your lawn chairs. A lemonade stand with refreshments will be available and all proceeds go to support the Corsicana Children’s Company productions at the WLAC. David Hill is directing; he will be assisted by Alyssa Lawhon, Tabitha Wilkes and Hailey Herrin.
The VFW on W. Highway 31 will present the Frankly Country Band from 8 p.m. to midnight. Tickets are $6 each. Come out and enjoy a good time.
The Angels of Corsicana Troop Support will hold its monthly troop packing at 9 a.m. Saturday at 1020 N. Bus. 45. Please bring any addresses of military serving in harms’ way to the packing. All ages are welcome. For more information call Jean O’Connor at (903) 851-2560.
The Republican Party Of Navarro County will hold an organizational meeting at 7 p.m. at Republican Headquarters located at 111-B West Third Avenue in downtown Corsicana. Precinct Chairs will be sworn in for the next two-year term and local party By-Laws will be adopted. State Senator Brian Birdwell will be the special guest speaker.
