June 10

The Navarro Regional Hospital Teen Volunteer Program begins for the summer. If you have a teenager between the ages 14-18 and they want to learn more about the medical field and earn volunteer hours, the summer program is just right for them. It is a great learning experience. Applications are available at the Front Information Desk of the hospital. For more information call (903) 654-6892.



Woodmen of the World Lodge 5 will have its meeting at 6 p.m. in the Lodge Hall at 200 W. Oak Lawn. All members, their families and guests are cordially invited.



June 11

The Corsicana Emergency Corps., located at 416 South 12th Street in Corsicana, will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at 7 p.m. The general public is invited to attend. Monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.  For further information, please call (903) 872-5072.



Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1009 will meet at 7 p.m. at the Sirloin Stockade, 2508 West Seventh Ave, Corsicana. Membership is open to U.S. armed forces veterans who served on active duty (for other than training purposes) in the Republic of Vietnam between Feb. 28, 1961 and May 7, 1975, or in any duty location between Aug. 5, 1964 and May 7, 1975. The veteran must submit a copy of his/her DD Form 214 along with the application and dues. Members and guest are invited to come early and eat and visit prior to the meeting.

Cedar Lake Home Health and Hospice sponsors a “Healing through Grief” support group that meets for lunch the second Wednesday of each quarter. Please join us at noon at 625 N. Main and bring a guest. Navarro Regional Hospital’s Senior Circle will have a Pot Luck at the hospital classrooms from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring a covered dish of your choice and join in on the fun. Contact Connie Beal to sign up at (903) 654-6892.



Jackson Ex-Students Association will hold its 2013 Juneteenth Pageant at Drane Middle School. This is a fundraiser to support the JESA Scholarship Fund. Girls ages 13 through 19 and babies to age 6 are being sought to come participate in an annual fun event. June 17

Senior Circle at Navarro Regional Hospital will hold its Senior Circle Lunch and Learn in the hospital classrooms from noon to 1 p.m. Topic is “Identity Theft: How Safe Are You?” Identity theft happens all the time, whether over the phone or in a store, it can happen to you. Join Officer James Hudson of the Corsicana Police Department to find out how not to fall into the path of Identity theft. The Corsicana Newcomers' Club will hold its annual Summer Social at 11 a.m. at the Kinsloe House. This year's event will be a Flip Flop Party with summer cuisine offered for lunch. Decorate your flip flops to win one of the prizes offered. Paula Butler from TAMU AgriLife Extension office will talk to us about cooking with herbs. Second Annual Senior (50+) Dance — Let’s Go to the HOP!!! The Cook Center, 6 to 8 p.m. Get out your poodle skirt and saddle shoes and join in on the fun.  Listen to the 50s music performed by the Corsicana Swing Band. Richland Volunteer Fire Department will be having a fish fry fundraiser from 4 to 7 p.m. at the fire station at 103 West Main. All you can eat,  with adults $10, kids 10 and under $5. All proceeds will benefit the Richland Volunteer Fire Department.



July 4

The American Legion and The American Legion Auxiliary, Post 22, 632 N. Beaton St., will host Karaoke from 5 to 10 p.m.  Come over and enjoy some good music and Free Hot Dogs.

The Navarro Council of the arts presents "With Six You Get Eggrolls" a Fine Art Exhibit featuring the works of Helen Albritton, Barbara Jones, Gladys Espenson, Deb Miller, Stephanie Ford, and Margie Taylor at the Warehouse Gallery from May 15 to July.  Exhibit is free and open to the public daily.
