Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1009 will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013 at the Sirloin Stockade, 2508 W. Seventh Ave, Corsicana. Membership is open to U.S. armed forces veterans who served on active duty (for other than training purposes) in the Republic of Vietnam between Feb. 28,1961 and May 7,1975, or in ANY duty location between Aug. 5,1964 and May 7,1975. Members and guest are invited to come early and eat and visit prior to the meeting. We welcome any Veteran as an associate member who served honorably who does not meet the above criteria.
The Corsicana Emergency Corps., located at 416 South 12th Street in Corsicana, will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at 7 p.m. The general public is invited to attend. Monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. For further information, please call 903-872-5072.
Kinsloe House will present a program at 11:30 a.m. hosted by the Flower Committee. The program titled “Flutes and Carols” will feature five flutists playing Christmas Carols. The flutists are Christine Thomson, Cheryl Tatum, Kristy Braly, Sylvia Green and Lynda Green. The program will be narrated by Shirley Nussbaum who will give background information about the carols. The James Blair Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution will have a special Christmas program at the Kinsloe House at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11. The Bell Choir of Sam Houston School will be performing. Hostesses for the event will be Beth Chapman and Mary Lou McKie.
