Corsicana — Eureka Crime Watch will hold its regular monthly meeting at 1:30 p.m. at Eureka United Methodist Church. Special guest will be Buckley Butler, Reservoir Manager with the Tarrant County Water District. Join us for this informative meeting and the fellowship which follows. Refreshments will be served.

 

Aug. 10

City of Corsicana presents “Island Time” in its Second Saturday event series from 4 to 9 p.m. in downtown Corsicana. Activities include limbo and hula hoop contests and water slide. Visit local merchants, street and food vendors, and enjoy live music by Curlyhead and also by Tommy-O and the Bamboo Boat Band. Free to the public and to vendors. Aug. 12

Woodmen of the World Lodge 5 will have its meeting at 6 p.m. in the Lodge Hall at 200 W. Oak Lawn.  All members, their families and guests are cordially invited.

Aug. 13

The Corsicana Emergency Corps., located at 416 South 12th Street in Corsicana, will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at 7 p.m.  The general public is invited to attend.  Monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.  For further information, please call (903) 872-5072.

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1009 will meet at 7 p.m. at the Sirloin Stockade, 2508 West 7th Ave, Corsicana. Membership is open to U.S. armed forces veterans who served on active duty (for other than training purposes) in the Republic of Vietnam between Feb. 28,1961 and May 7,1975, or in ANY duty location between Aug. 5,1964 and May 7,1975. The veteran must submit a copy of his/her DD Form 214 along with the application and dues. Members and guest are invited to come early and eat and visit prior to the meeting.

NARFE, National Association of Active/Retired Federal Employees, Chapter 1191, will hold its monthly meeting at the Sirloin Stockade restaurant in Corsicana, Texas from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Meet John Gantt, guest speaker, and also our NARFE NE Area Vice President, Dewey LaRochelle, who is visiting our chapter.  Members, guests, and all who are part of our federal family come join us.
