Dec. 12

The Corsicana Newcomers' Club Lunch Bunch will travel to Ennis to enjoy a holiday lunch at Interior Ideas.  Call Pat Schroeder at 903-872-9663 for more information, directions and  reservations.  



Dec. 13

The Corsicana Newcomers' Club will hold its monthly meeting at Kinsloe House at 11 a.m. This meeting is early due to the Christmas Holiday.  Steve Colburn will perform a medley of favorite music and quite probably get us all in the Christmas Spirit! VFW Post 3366 invites all its members and guest out for an evening of karaoke with Country Sue’s Karaoke. Canteen opens at 4 p.m. and karaoke starts at 8 p.m. until closing. Come early to get a good seat. Admission is free. Call 903-872-3811 after 4 p.m. for more information.



Senior Circle Pot Luck has had a change of date. The Senior Circle pot luck will be held on Friday, Dec. 13th in the Hospital classrooms at 11:30 a.m. Contact Connie Beal – 903-654-6892 to reserve your spot.



Dec. 14

Corsicana Cloggers invite the public to join at 11 a.m. as we show our gratitude to Corsicana with our Sixth annual  “Give Back to Corsicana” Christmas Clogging Concert at the Senior Activity Center - Park Ave. and 18th.  Share our hot wassail, sodas and home-made cookies while the Corsicana Cloggers dance to your favorite Christmas songs. All are welcome.



The Coyote Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force meets at the Tucker Hardgrave Memorial Hangar at the south end of C. David Campbell Field, the Corsicana Municipal Airport.  There will be a staff meeting at 10 a.m. with the general meeting to follow at 10:30 a.m.  Prospective members and the public are invited to attend the general meeting.  



The Shakers and Scrapers will have a Cruise In and its annual Toy Drive for the holidays on Saturday, Dec. 14 at the corner of Beaton and First Ave at 3 p.m. The toys will be given to The Salvation Army to distribute. Please come out and join us for this event. Bring the kids and your camera.



Dec. 17

The Corsicana Art League will have its December meeting at 6 p.m. at Napoli’s. Spouses are welcome to join us for our Christmas party. Please bring a small painting or art supply as an exchange gift. We hope to see you there.



Dec. 18

The Kinsloe House (and its Finance Committee) will host “Caroling on a Sleigh Ride with you” where members of the Corsicana High School band and ensemble singing group will bring all kinds of holiday music to really get in the swing of the holiday season.  This is our last program luncheon of 2013. There will be a Board meeting at 1:15 p.m. after the program. This group of young people will warm our hearts in this cold weather. Dec. 21

Corsicana Vendors Day will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Pegasus Ballroom, 801 N. 13th St. All vendors will have holiday discounts, and there will be a shopping game going on in which one lucky shopper will be the winner of a $200 cash prize. Winner need not be present to win, and the prize may be claimed after 6 p.m. on Dec. 21.  



Dec. 23

Emhouse Community Center will have its Christmas meeting and meal at 6 p.m. Bring a dish and a $5 gift for Chinese Christmas.



Dec. 25

The American Legion, Post 22, 632 N. Beaton St.  will be closed on Christmas Day and reopen on Dec. 26 at 2 p.m., the regular time. VFW Post 3366 will host its annual New Year’s Eve dance on Tuesday, Dec. 31 2013 from 8 p.m. till the New Year 2014.  Heart of Texas Road Gang will be the entertainment for the evening!.Traditional country at its finest. Tickets are $15 in advance or at the door. Tables can be reserved from now till the 31st. Tickets can be bought from the bartender in the post canteen. We are located on Veterans Drive off of West Hwy. 31 in Corsicana. Party favors and snacks will be provided. Get your tickets early for best choice of seating.



Jan. 14

The Corsicana Emergency Corps., located at 416 South 12th Street in Corsicana, will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at 7 p.m. The general public is invited to attend. Jan. 25

Training for VITA volunteers (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at Navarro College. VITA site opens Jan. 28 through April 15. Volunteers would act as tax preparers for qualifying low income and elderly individuals. Shifts to work the VITA site are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 5 p.m. or 5 to 7 p.m.
