Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr. is one of musical theater's brightest and most innovative shows, and will be performed by the Corsicana Children’s Company of Warehouse Living Arts Theatre.  Based on the Emmy Award winning 1970's educational animated TV series, Schoolhouse uses familiar songs from the cartoons to teach grammar, math, science, history and so much more. The show runs March 5,6 and 7 at 7 p.m. and March 8 and 9 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults, $7 for students and $6 for kids 12 and under. March 5

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Site will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. to assist the elderly and low income to file their tax returns at the Kerens Public Library. To schedule an appointment call 281-682-0928.

March 6

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 320 North 15th Street in Corsicana. For more information to to make an appointment call 1-800-733-2767.

Blooming Grove Crime Watch will meet at 7 p.m. at the Blooming Grove Historical Society building. Guest speaker will be Russell Hudson, Navarro County Tax Assessor/Collector. Light refreshments will be served. Everyone is welcome to attend.

March 7

Fish Fry to be held at the Benedictine Monastery of Thien Tam (Heavenly Heart) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The monastery is located at 13055 SE County Road 4271 Kerens, TX 75144, located off Hwy 287 and Monastery Way. March 8

Bark for Life (sponsored by the American Cancer Society) will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bunert Park, 201 Bunert Park Road. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., $10 per dog. It is a non-competitve walk event for dogs and their owners to raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer. Also at Bunert Park during Bark for Life will be a CASI-qualifying chili cookoff event, and a Car Show sponsored by The Cars of Navarro County.
