Corsicana — A listing of meetings and events of interest from throughout Navarro County

March 16

Trinidad Volunteer Fire Department will host The Plummer Family Country Music Show at the Trinidad High School Auditorium at 7 p.m. This group is formerly of Branson, and the money raised will go to benefit the Trinidad VFD. Adult tickets in advance are $10, and will be $12 at the door; children 12 and under are $5, and no charge for pre-school and younger. For more information, call (903) 778-2600.

VFW Trade Days at the VFW off of Hwy 31 West  in Corsicana on  Saturday March 16th! Starts at 9 a.m. and runs till 4 p.m.! Handmade crafts, jewelry, Bertha's cannings, tupperware, Avon and more. For more information call (903) 493-0557.

 

March 18

The Corsicana Art League will hold its March meeting at the Senior Activity Center on March 18 at 6 p.m.  Charlie Bullock, a painter and sculptor from Athens will be demonstrating. Come bring a friend. For more info Call: (903) 519-9082.

 

March 19

Corsicana Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) will be at the Corsicana YMCA from 2 to 7 p.m. If you are low income (usually under $42K) or elderly, and in need of tax filing assistance, take advantage of this free program. This year VITA will see clients with appointments first and then work with walk-ins. VITA is at the YMCA on Tuesdays and Thursdays and at the Kerens Library on Wednesdays from 1 to 4 p.m. Call George Burrell at (903) 879-2091 to schedule your appointment.

Navarro County Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance meets at 6 p.m. each Tuesday, in the fellowship hall at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 101 N. 14th St., Corsicana.  All are welcome to learn to give and receive support at the weekly meetings. On the first Tuesday of the month, Dr. Tom Sheriff, licensed psychologist, joins the group discussions on various aspects of mental health.
