Corsicana — The Blooming Grove Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. in the museum at 201 S. Fordyce St.  Homer Whorton will tell about his youthful days in Blooming Grove.  All interested people are invited to attend.  For more information call (903) 673-2635 or (903) 695-2633.

Oct. 2

Eureka Crime Watch will hold its regular monthly meeting at 1:30 p.m. at the Eureka United Methodist Church. Special guest will be Dick Martin, Precinct 2 County Commissioner. The public is invited for this informative meeting and the fellowship which follows. Refreshments will be served.

The Kinsloe House  will present an interesting and entertaining program by one of its members, Mary Lou McKie, who will discuss Vanderbilt family memorabilia. Mary Lou was married to Cornelius Vanderbilt, Jr.  Join us as she shares memorabilia and experiences as a member of the Vanderbilt family. Members don’t want to miss the chance to hear about the Vanderbilts and see some of the gorgeous jewelry and other items Mary Lou will exhibit. The American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 22, 632 N. Beaton St., will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. at the post. The Blooming Grove Crime Watch will meet at 7 p.m. at the Blooming Grove Historical Society Building, across from city hall. County Commissioner James Olsen will be the guest speaker. Everyone is welcome.

Third Annual Habitat for Humanity Eat & Skeet will be held at Upland Bird Country.  Friday night steak dinner with beer, wine and live music at 6:30 p.m., tickets $40/person. Saturday shooting, registration at 7 a.m., breakfast and lunch served.  $200/two man team with great prizes for winners.
