The Corsicana Newcomer's Club will hold it's annual fundraising event at 6 p.m. at the Corsicana Country Club. You don't have to be a Newcomer to enjoy this fun event as the community is invited to come to this year's Blue Jeans, Boots & Bids auction, dinner and dance featuring music by Byron Haynie. A live and silent auction will be held. Proceeds raised from this event go to support local community non-profit organizations. Tickets are $25 per person. VFW Post 3366 will have a dance from 8 p.m. to midnight in the ballroom side of the VFW Post 3366 off of W. Hwy 31. Randy Blue and The Full House Band will be the entertainment for the evening. There will be a $5 cover charge at the door.
Navarro County NAACP Branch 6209 will hold its Sixth Annual Freedom Fund Banquet at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center, 111, E. The Blooming Grove Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. in the museum at 201 S. Fordyce St. in Blooming Grove. The speaker will be Elmer (Sonny) Boyd who is a retired detective with the Dallas Police Department and was involved in the investigation into the John F. Kennedy assassination on Nov. 22, 1963.
