The Corsicana Art League resumes after a summer break. There will be a "pitch-in" dinner at the Senior Activity Center at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug 19. Artists are invited to bring one or two paintings to be critiqued by the group. Bring your favorite dish and a friend. For more info call (903) 519-9082.
Navarro County Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance meets at 6 p.m. each Tuesday, in the St. John’s Episcopal Church Annex, 417 W. Collin St., Corsicana. All are welcome to learn to give and receive support at the weekly meetings. On the first Tuesday of the month, Dr. Tom Sheriff, licensed psychologist, joins the group discussions on various aspects of mental health. For more information call (903) 872-6302.
U.S. Rep. Joe Barton (R-Ennis) is hosting a Town Hall meeting at 6 p.m. at the Corsicana Government Center, at 200 North 12th Street. Barton will provide an update on activities taking place in Washington, D.C., and will answer questions from the audience. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
Corsicana Marcha Para La Reforma/ Immigration Reform Rally will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. during the Joe Barton Town Hall Meeting. The Kinsloe House Grounds Committee, headed by Paula Jones, will present an interesting program given by Angie Lockhart, administrator of Heritage Oaks Retirement Center. Angie will speak about the many changes in Medicare, Managed Care, and Medicaid. This is a program that will interest many as we will need to know how to manage the complexities of Medicare.
