Corsicana — The St. Elmo Cemetery Association will hold its annual cake sale and hotdog supper at 6 p.m. The cemetery is supported entirely by donations. If you cannot attend and wish to make a donation, please send it to St. Elmo Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 215, Streetman Texas 75859.

The Shakers and Scrapers Car Club will host its monthly cruise in at the H & R Block parking lot on W. Seventh Ave. at 6 p.m. So bring out your hot rods, muscle cars, sports car, motorcycles, project, or anything that rolls. Be sure to bring your camera. There will be awards and door prizes. Also there will be a garage sale at the corner of First Ave. and Beaton (at the old Stewart Motor Co. Parking Lot) from 8 a.m. to 3\ p.m. to raise money for local charities.  

Oct. 14

The Republican Party of Navarro County will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. at Republican headquarters located at 111-B W. Third Ave. in downtown Corsicana. The Corsicana Preservation Foundation will present information regarding the Nov. 5 bond election to finance the renovation of the Navarro County Courthouse. In addition, the proposed states constitutional amendments will be discussed. There will be a social from 6:30 to 7 p.m., saluting the county elected officials. All registered voters are welcome to attend. For more information, reference the website www.navgop.com.

Woodmen of the World Lodge 5 will have its meeting at 6 p.m. in the Lodge Hall at 200 W. Oak Lawn. All members, their families and guests are cordially invited.

Oct. 16

The Kinsloe House Past President’s Committee will present an informative program given by the new president of Navarro College, Dr. Barbara Kavalier. Dr. Kavalier will share insights into what is going on at Navarro College and where she sees the college going in the future. Members are urged to make their reservations or cancellations by noon on Monday, Oct. 14 by either calling the House at (903) 874-5791 or by email at kinsloehouse@yahoo.com.
